Sighseeing around Calonge/Cala d´Or/S´Horta

There are several attractions near Calonge/Cala d that are worth visiting.

Mondragó Natural Park near Calonge, Mallorca Cala Mondragó: This bay is one of the most popular beaches near Calonge. It is surrounded by pine forests and offers crystal clear water and fine sand.

• Castell de Calonge: This 16th-century castle offers panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. It can be visited and offers an interesting insight into the history of the region.

• The Monastery of Felanitx: also known as Santuari de Sant Salvador, is a former monastery perched on the Puig de Sant Salvador in the municipality of Felanitx, in the southeast of the Spanish island of Mallorca. The monastery is located at an altitude of 509 meters and offers spectacular views over the entire island.

The monastery was founded in the 14th century to commemorate the victims of the plague that ravaged the island at the time. The original church was built in 1349 and expanded in the 16th century. Over the centuries, the monastery has been inhabited by various orders, including Franciscans, Capuchins, and Mercedarians.

The last monks left the monastery in 1992. Since then, the facility has been managed by two local families who also run a nice restaurant. 

The monastery is now a popular tourist destination and offers a variety of activities and attractions including Visits to the church.

The church is a beautiful example of Mallorcan Gothic. It is equipped with a ribbed vault and stained glass windows.
